Our Story

Two Cooks.
One Tradition.

Black and white portrait of Chef Rick Matharu

The Chef

Rick Matharu

Rick grew up in his mother's kitchen long before it was cool to call that "training." He learned to cook by watching, tasting, and getting his hand swatted away from the pot one too many times.

That kitchen education eventually took him to national television, where he competed on and won Canada's "Recipe to Riches" — a moment that turned a family hobby into a full-blown obsession with sharing Punjabi flavor with the rest of the country.

Rick's food doesn't try to be fancy. It tries to be honest: bold spice, real technique, and a fusion instinct that comes from growing up between two cultures and loving both of them fully.

The Spice Queen

Manjeet Matharu

If Rick is the face of the brand, Manjeet is its soul. Every signature gravy, every spice blend, every "just a pinch more" moment on the line traces back to her.

Manjeet co-founded Rick's Good Eats in 2016, insisting on one non-negotiable rule: nothing gets served that she wouldn't proudly put on her own family's table. That rule still governs every menu decision today.

"Taste it before you plate it."
